MELTON QUARRY EXTENSION

Pleydell Smithyman carried out a Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment for a quarry extension at this chalk quarry. The site is surrounded by sensitive landscapes, thus requiring the assessment to be thorough and supported by our detailed methodology. The application involved the phased extraction of chalk with progressive restoration of the Site to an ecological and geological conservation purpose. Pleydell Smithyman were also utilised to provide plans which interpreted the geological models and provided a restoration scheme for use in the application. Our work supported the planning application which was undertaken by a separate planning consultant allowing our focused expertise to provide bespoke application components as required.
