HILLHOUSE QUARRY GROUP

GARPEL QUARRY

A planning appeal to determine the initial application at Garpel Quarry began in 2013, subsequent work on discharging planning conditions enabled our specialisms in ecology and landscape to come to the forefront. This work included calculations of and drawing up of a restoration bond, plans which demonstrate the ‘Quarry Progress Plan’ and ecological assessments. In 2020 a planning application for a minor extension was undertaken, the extension area was based on a study of the local topography and the maximum potential extension to the north without opening up additional visual impacts to a new range of local receptors. Pleydell Smithyman’s practical approach, with an understanding of the local planning system, have helped the client achieve their aims.
