BITHAM LANE COMMUNITY PARK, JINNY TRAIL & STRETTON WOODS

Pleydell Smithyman Limited have worked in partnership with Stretton Parish Council since 1999 developing and implementing landscape improvement works in Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire.

Stretton Parish Council initially engaged Pleydell Smithyman Limited about a regeneration masterplan for the Bitham Lane Park. Our creative design was well received by local people and has subsequently led to a more detailed design and the construction of hard and soft landscapes both within the park and along the Jinny trail providing improved access for disabled users and a viewing platform and seating area adjacent to a pond, and a carefully designed footpath link transforming Stretton Woods from an impenetrable thicket into an enchanting woodland walk meandering through the trees. Both areas are now popular with dog-walkers, runners and cyclists.
