We designed the Thanet District Council UK Shared Prosperity Fund Impact Report around a bold, highly visual layout system that made a large amount of information feel structured, accessible and easy to navigate.
The design uses a strong palette of deep blue, cyan and magenta, supported by a distinctive illustrated streetscape that runs throughout the report and helps give the publication its own recognisable character. This graphic motif was carried across the cover, section openers, infographic pages and supporting layouts to create consistency from beginning to end.
A major focus of the report was the development of compact infographic-led pages and spreads, using modular blocks, icons, large statistics and clear typographic hierarchy to turn detailed impact data into something that could be understood quickly. Rather than treating the information as a continuous stream of text, the layouts break content into visually distinct moments, giving key figures, outcomes and achievements much more prominence.
The report also balances these data-heavy pages with photography, testimonial panels, bold section dividers and full-page statements, helping vary the pace and prevent the document from feeling repetitive. Section openers use large-scale typography and simple graphic elements to create clear transitions, while content pages use a more structured grid to manage longer text, imagery and supporting information.
The result is a report that feels confident, colourful and approachable, while still retaining the clarity and professionalism needed for a local authority publication. The visual system helps transform complex programme outcomes into a publication that feels engaging, cohesive and easy to explore.
