NORWICH 2040 INCLUSIVE ECONOMY VISION
Layout & Infographic Design

Norwich City Council

2025
The Norwich 2040 Inclusive Economy Vision project focused on creating a bold, contemporary report design that could communicate a long-term strategic vision in a clear and visually engaging way. An established visual style was already in place, so our approach was to build a strong relationship with the existing Norwich 2040 identity while developing it into a flexible editorial system suitable for a substantial publication.
We worked with supplied text and photography, using a distinctive deep blue palette alongside vibrant coral accents to create contrast, hierarchy and consistency throughout the report. Subtle map graphics, oversized typography and carefully controlled colour blocking reinforce the connection to Norwich, while angular graphic shapes and cropped photographic elements give the layouts a more dynamic character. Full-bleed city photography is used across key spreads to create moments of visual impact and give the report a strong sense of place.
The internal layouts balance large-scale imagery with structured text panels, clearly defined headings and generous spacing to make detailed information easier to navigate. We also developed supporting iconography, infographics and tables to translate complex information into more accessible visual formats while remaining consistent with the wider graphic language.
Across the report, our focus was on creating a coherent visual rhythm between highly graphic pages, information-led layouts and photography-driven spreads. The result is a confident and recognisable publication that retains a clear relationship with the existing Norwich 2040 style while giving the Inclusive Economy Vision its own distinctive visual presence.
